We’re seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller who will be responsible for managing the tax and accounting process for the corporation. The Controller will operate in a continuous improvement and team-based environment, paying high attention to detail and accuracy in all that we do.
What you will do as a Corporate Controller at MediSpend:
- Lead the general accounting operations, including monthly closing process
- Ensure timely and accurate financial and operating metric reporting
- Lead accounting operations: accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivables, payroll, fixed assets and debt obligations
- Manage day-to-day responsibilities of treasury function including: planning related to cash and liquidity. Oversee compliance with periodic reporting to external lender
- Manage external audit process
- Ensure compliance with state sales and use tax requirements, including collection and reporting. Assist external tax preparer with relevant financial information to ensure timely, accurate income tax filings
- Oversee compliance of all aspects of Accounting Best Practices
- Utilize Sage Intacct financial platform to improve reporting, streamline accounting processes and accurately reflect financial information
- Provide oversight, guidance, and development to the finance staff.
- Optimize the workflow of the accounting function and alignment of people, processes and systems to achieve departmental objectives
- Manage day-to-day reporting and control process activities in partnership with the Finance leadership team
- Analyze and collaborate on the production of financial forecasts and annual budget including variance analyses and reporting key findings to leadership
- Develop partnership with senior leadership to provide support and guidance as needed
- Assist CFO on special projects and other analyses

What you bring to the table:
- A Bachelor's degree preferably in economics, accounting or finance or an MBA, partnered with 8 – 10+ years of accounting and financial experience
- CPA required
- Experience with a subscription-based revenue recognition model strongly preferred. Bonus points if it’s with a subscription-based technology (SaaS) company with remote finance operations
- Experience in multi-entity controllership, including management of the annual financial audit and tax processes
- Experience with acquisition/purchase accounting and integrating acquisitions from the financial office perspective preferred
- Prior experience within an accounting firm and private equity portfolio company preferred
- Excellent working knowledge of GAAP-based accounting principles
- Experience in the preparation and reporting of consolidated multi-entity financial results
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Hands-on leader with can-do attitude who leads by example and has a best practice mindset
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment while possessing a strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Demonstrated ability leveraging financial systems and technology to drive process improvement initiatives
